BAPTISM

WATER BAPTISM

An Outward Declaration of an All In Faith.

Following Jesus changes everything. Baptism is a powerful, public declaration of the decision to put your faith and trust in Him. It's a step of obedience, an expression of surrender, and a celebration of the new life we have through Jesus.

At BECO, we believe salvation is a gift of God's grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ—not something we earn through baptism or good works. Baptism is an outward expression of the transformation that begins when we place our faith in Him.

We practice baptism by immersion, following the example Jesus set. Being lowered into the water symbolizes the death and burial of our old life, while being raised out of the water represents the new life we've received through Christ.

Baptism isn't a declaration that we've arrived or have everything figured out. It's a declaration of who we're following.

As part of our DEPLOY pathway, baptism is an opportunity to step forward in faith, publicly identify with Jesus, and share the story of what He's doing in your life.

FAQs

WHY WATER BAPTISM?
FOLLOWING JESUS' EXAMPLE
Baptism is more than a tradition. It's a step of obedience to Jesus and a public declaration of our decision to follow Him. Jesus Himself was baptized, setting an example for us to follow, and later commanded His followers to go into the world, make disciples, and baptize them.
At BECO, we believe baptism is one of the first ways we put our faith into action. It's not about earning salvation. It's about boldly identifying with the One who saved us.
Matthew 3:16–17 | Matthew 28:18–20

WHAT DOES WATER BAPTISM DECLARE?
Water baptism is more than a symbolic moment. It's a public declaration of your faith in Jesus and the new life you've received through Him.
01 | I'VE DECIDED TO FOLLOW JESUS.
Baptism is an outward declaration that you've placed your faith in Jesus Christ and chosen to follow Him.
Acts 2:41
02 | MY OLD LIFE IS GONE. I'VE BEEN MADE NEW.
Through Jesus, we're no longer defined by our past. Baptism represents leaving our old life behind and stepping into the new life we have in Christ.
Romans 6:4
03 | I BELONG TO THE FAMILY OF GOD.
Through faith in Jesus, we've become children of God and part of His Church. Baptism is a public celebration of that new identity and belonging.
Galatians 3:26–27

SHOULD I BE BAPTIZED AGAIN?
Baptism is intended to be a response to your personal decision to follow Jesus. It represents a new life in Christ and your place in God's family.
If you were baptized before you personally placed your faith in Jesus, or your baptism didn't reflect that decision to follow Him, we encourage you to consider taking this step now.
It's not about repeating a religious tradition. It's about making a personal, public declaration of your faith in Jesus and the new life you've received through Him.

WATER BAPTISM FOR KIDS
At BECO, we believe children can have a genuine, growing relationship with Jesus. Through BECOKids, we encourage children to do more than simply learn about Him. We want them to know Him personally, follow His example, and begin living out their faith every day.

Water baptism is a meaningful step in that journey. It's a public declaration of a child's personal decision to follow Jesus.
Because baptism is a personal decision, we encourage parents to wait until their child can confidently answer two important questions:
  1. Have you made the decision to follow Jesus? What does that mean to you?
  2. Why do you want to be baptized, and what does baptism represent?

Our heart isn't to rush children toward a milestone, but to help them build a genuine faith that continues to grow throughout their lives.
We're honored to partner with parents as they raise the next generation of All In Followers of Jesus.
